I am building an 8-bit breadboard computer together with my son as a fun way to learn how computers work. We are using Ben Eater’s 8-bit Breadboard kit and following along with his Youtube course.

The Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) is complete and can add and subtract 8-bit numbers:

We are taking a break from the project while my son is in school so he can focus on his studies, but I hope to complete the project this summer (2026).
